About

Nurturing healing and growth through connection with the natural world

As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and AHTA Registered Horticultural Therapist (HTR), I support children and adults (ages 8+) in navigating life’s challenges with a compassionate, experiential, and holistic approach. I offer both individual and group counseling to Oregon residents, in-person and online. – Approach & Specializations – Drawing on specialized training in DBT and Ecotherapy, I work with clients to address a range of concerns, including struggles with focus and overwhelm, self-worth and identity development, anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. Depending on your unique circumstances and needs, sessions may be offered through an online, in-office, walk-and-talk, or hybrid format. For clients who are interested in supplementing their treatment with horticultural therapy, we can work with plants in-office, virtually, or at local garden sites. Please inquire about seasonal children's horticultural therapy groups, which focus on strengthening emotional awareness, emotional regulation, self-trust, self-worth, and collaborative skills via therapeutic horticulture activities. – Why Nature? – Research shows that connecting with nature, both indoors and outdoors, can help reduce cognitive overload and overstimulation, improve mood, and foster a sense of balance and well-being. Engaging with our natural environment has been found to minimize stress, increase emotional resilience, and create a deeper sense of connection to oneself, others, and the world. At Portland Ecotherapy, nature serves as a co-facilitator in the healing process. Whether our sessions involve taking a walk together outside, working with plants and soil in-person or virtually, or drawing on lessons from nature in conversation and mindfulness, my work centers the proven benefits of connection with the natural world. – Insurance & Fees – Currently accepting OHP CareOregon and Private Pay. Please check back as more CCOs are added. Upon request, I can provide Superbills for you to submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement, and can supply you with a template of questions to ask your insurance about your out-of-network benefits. – Consultations – Inquire for a free 15-minute phone consultation to give us a chance to connect and assess whether we’d be a good fit to work together. During this call, we’ll explore factors like how well our schedules align, your therapy goals, and the topics you’d like to address in sessions. Every healing journey is unique, and finding the right support matters. If you’d like to learn more, I’m happy to answer any questions you may have.
